Discouraged by the "do not touch" signs and evil-eyed security guards commonplace in galleries and museums? Then visit The Monmouth Museum and Cultural Center in Lincroft June 22 - August 19 for the Please Touch Sculpture exhibit featuring the art of the Sculptors' Association of New Jersey. Sure, the museum is clearly reaching out to vision-impaired art enthusiasts (audio descriptive devices and braille labels will also be available), but let's face it: wouldn't we all just love to handle the sculpture?
The Monmouth Museum is on the Brookdale Community College campus, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays; 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6; children under 2 free. (732) 747-2266
